My writing passion lies with poetry, although it is often not the most important aspect of writing and the types of writing taught in school it is one that is not only unique but the best way to get in touch with yourself and your emotions. Through poetry you can express your feelings, a message you want to convey and overall anything you want to say to a specific audience.

Since I found my passion for poetry i have been able to express myself in a way i never knew was possible and I have also gained exposure to other poets and their work. Over the summer I was given the opportunity to publish one of my poems in a book composed of poems written by high school students like me. This was an experience that helped my realize how passionate I was about writing poetry.
